Ungheni is situated on the middle stream of the Mures River, where the Niraj River runs into the Mures River, 11 km away from Târgu Mures, on the international European road E 60, Târgu Mures - Cluj Napoca.
The town is located in the Mures meadow, between the Madaras Pod - Târnave hills and Niraj hills, as well as in the lower part of the Niraj valley.
On the 18th of April, 2004, Ungheni was declared town, its citizens hoping for a better future once with the opening of the Vidrasau industrial park, with the development of the airport and with the accumulation of further investments.

Reghin is located in the wide course of the Mures River, at the confluence with the Gurghiu River, opening up in an amphitheatre shape on the western bank of the Mures River.
In 1427 it was known as a borough - oppidum Regen, and in the 16th century it became a handicraft center.

The depression is not sub-mountainous due to the fast rivers coming down from the Carpathian Mountains perpendicular to the Secas River moving its the alluvial plane away from the mountains.
It is traversed by the Secas River (42 km), affluent of the Sebes River, a small river with a 20-30 m large bed that very rarely overflows during heavy rains.
As such it is indirectly connected with the Mures River hydrographic basin: the Sebes River is an affluent of the Mures River.

The archaeological site was uncovered situated between the localities of Bobalna and Geoagiu, on the right bank of the Mures river, at approximately 8 km from the Roman thermal complex of Germisara (excavated in previous years).
At the exterior of these substructures were uncovered numerous large blocks of river stone mixed with debris and earth, which derived from the elevation of the wall in the premises.
In the southern part of the section were supported portions of the wall and traces of the destroyed wall, as well as a fragment of a column.

The bridge over river Mures, built in 1912, has been significantly deteriorated both during the second world war, and over time, by natural disasters.

The lands between the Tisa and the forest towards Transylvania and from the Mures river to the Somes river was occupied by Duke Morout, whose grandson was called Men-Marot by the Hungarians.
