	Heart
		The band was in the middle of working on their second album for Mushroom, when the Wilson sisters discovered an ad in Rolling Stone magazine placed by Mushroom Records, stating that they were lesbian lovers.
		The album with Mushroom was put on indefinite hold, and Heart signed a new record deal with Portrait Records, a subsidary of Sony.
		The album easily sailed all the way to #1 on the charts, but many of the band's longtime fans felt that the Wilson sisters had sold their souls to 'corporate' rock, as the women became sexy fashion models on MTV with their looks as well as their videos.

		The traditional aspect of their music mixed with undoubted rock influences is continued by other artists such as the Horslips, but I believe that Mushroom have pioneered the genre with this album.
		Like all the innovators at the time, their music is as rough edged as the recording, undimmed by studio over-indulgences, allowing the sheer natural exhuberance of the music to flow out throught the speakers.
		Aside from a few singles, this was the only album Mushroom made, so it is a shame it suffers from such poor sound in places.

		For the first time on a Mushroom album the bulk of the tracks are instrumental including, in what is something of a characteristic trademark, one track that is split into two parts.
		It is possible that the dominance of quite simple instrumentals and the variety of song styles is an indication that the group was running out of ideas, which may have been a factor in the decision to lay the band to rest.
		It is an enjoyable album with some very fine moments and the quality of the music and recording is on a par with the best of their previous work.

While their name conjures images of late-'60s psychedelic or acid rock, Sacred Mushroom's roots were decidedly more bluesy than trippy.
		Likewise, their harder-edged performance style is well served by the tight and somewhat pop-driven arrangements, resembling artists such as the Allman Joys, Kak, or the pre-Blue Öyster Cult Stalk-Forrest Group.
