Equatorial Guinea was carved out of three former Spanish colonies: Rio Muni, a strip of land between Cameroon and Gabon, Bioko, an island near Cameroon, and Annobón, an island in the Atlantic Ocean far from the mainland.
Music is typically call and response with a chorus and drums alternating.
The balélé and the risque ibanga are two of the many dances in Equatorial Guinea, most of which are accompanied by a three or four person orchestra consisting of some arrangement of sanza, xylophone, drums, zithers and bow harps [2].

Both of these recordings, Kottó and Kchaba, by EG (Equatorial Guinea) duo, Las Hijas del Sol  are a few years old now.
I believe that the international community would find the indigenous music of EG to be quite stunning, but this formal Spanish colony, like many other African nations suffers from repressive government and lack of support for its local music community.
Las Hijas and many of their musical compatriots live outside of Madrid in a small suburb the EG community dubs Malabo Dos (Malabo is the capital of Equatorial Guinea).
