		Although the lounge trend rolled through a year or so ago and flooded the market with their sounds, much of the music that was released had absolutely no soul and was even less inspired.
		Like the music for Vampyros Lesbos, it's older music that is slightly ahead of its time and has even been an influence for electronic artists such as today (more well-known praises has come from Air, Richard Dorfmeister, Coldcut, Pulp, and Dimitri from Paris).
		The actual music on the disc spans about a five year period betweeen 1965 and 1970, but despite being 30 years old (or more), it really does have its moments and the recording quality of it all sounds great as well.

		I kind of stumbled onto the genre by accident, because I was also getting into 60's and 70's soundtrack music which leads you to Library music (the aural equivilant of stock photos) which leads you all sorts of places.
		This is what happens when you ask jazz musicians to play psychedelic rock - which brings me back to what's so great about this genre - it was a conglomeration of so many styles that were pushed together in order to make an all appealing sound of the age.
		The music is similar (albeit, the Schulmadchen Report is definitely more uptempo the whole way through) and you can decide if it's your cup of tea before you blow a lot of money on a 45 minute album.

		This CD, "Vampyros Lesbos: Sexadelic Dance Party", is actually 20 minutes shorter as many of the more experimental tracks have being omitted, most notably the 'stalking music' from "Vampyros Lesbos" but is still a gorgeous edition and well worth owning.
		The music is just so much fun, you feel like grooving the moment it begins until long after the albumns over.
		My favourite from the ones represented here is "Vampyros Lesbos", but all Jess Franco's films are cult classics and Soledad Miranda's brathtaking scene prescence made her legendary icon of Euro-cult cinema even though she tragically died so young.

		First off, I'm mad beacuse I just heard a new special edition of Vampyros Lesbos and She Killed in Ecstacy are comming out in October, which will probably be better than the out of print synapse dvd we all have.

		The music of Manfred Hubler and Siegfried Schwab-originally released on two rare 1969 albums, PSYCHEDELIC DANCE PARTY and SEXADELIC-had a style all its own; it was "acidjazz-pop,' alternately electrifying, languid and effervescent.
		The surface was often lively, with bold horns and laughing sitars, but beneath this ocean of sound lay a dark and delirious undertow, conjured by ominous swirls of Hammond organ and reverberating psycho-chords which invited the listener to inhale and succumb.
		I'd loved this music for years, but had only heard it on the dulled-down, mono soundtracks of various bootleg videos.

		I really liked this; it is a collection of songs from a couple of Jesus Franco films, and whereas they don't fit all that well in the movies, by their own they complete a 70's Acid Trip!

		Amidst the overwrought vocalising of some bizarre lyrics, presumably lost in translation into English, are some delightful musical touches: vigorous funk; continental pop; pizzicato harpsichord riffs; swirling strings; anthemic moogs and synths; stratospheric guitar; and languid bass solos played by groovy chaps with large moustaches (probably).

		Instead of doing three camera set ups for three different shots he sets the camera up once, and will proceed to zoom in on the subject at several different distances, saving a hell of a lot of money and time in the process, but occasionally inducing nausea in the viewer.
		The dodgy disco soundtrack does not sit as well as the directors choice of jazz soundtrack does in say Vampyros Lesbos 1970.
		But I think a hell of a lot of films at the time, had disco soundtracks, which we look at as dodgy now, but were probably really cool (groovy!) at the time, so I guess in this respect the soundtrack isn't out of place, but it still sounds weird!
