		Mayotte, with an area of 144 square miles (374 square kilometers), is the easternmost island in the Comoros off the coast of southwestern Africa, and geologically the oldest.
		Mayotte is made up of several small islands, including Petite Terre, where the airport is located, and Grande Terre, the main island.
		The wadaha, the dance of the pestles, is an exercise in manual dexterity and seduction, conducted to a vigorous musical rhythm.
