Riot grrl is a form of hardcore punk which arose in Olympia, Washington in the 1990s and was led by bands like Bikini Kill, known for their militant feminism and raw, uncompromising sound.
Grunge music began as a mixture of heavy metal and punk rock, and arose from the hesher scene in Seattle during the 1980s.
In 1991 (see 1991 in music), Nirvana's Nevermind, along with Soundgarden's Badmotorfinger, Pearl Jam's Ten and Alice in Chains' Dirt brought grunge to the top of the national charts, where it stayed for several years, until Kurt Cobain's suicide and the departure of several major bands.

 Washington Area Music Association (WAMA)
The Tribute to Nils Lofgren was part of the Strathmore/WAMA Timeline Concert Series and was an unforgettable concert held at Strathmore, on August 22, 2004, attended by more than 5,000 fans.
It runs about 3 and 1/2 hours & features an 11 song (full band) set from Nils and includes the long awaited Grin reunion with Bob Berberich and Tom Lofgren along with Bob Gordons son, Billy on bass for a couple of numbers.
The show also featured one of the final performances by the late, great Wade Matthews.
