 | | Founded in 1988, the Vienna Piano Trio (Stefan Mendl, piano, Wolfgang Redik, violin, and Christian Poltra, cello) has achieved a meteoric rise to fame (The Strad), and has been hailed as one of the worlds leading ensembles of piano, violin and cello (The Washington Post). |
 | | In October 1999 the trio performed at the Vienna Musikverein the world premiere of a triple concerto written for the ensemble by the Austrian composer Christoph Cech. |
 | | Having won numerous prizes at international competitions, the Vienna Piano Trio went on to study with the Trio di Trieste, the Haydn Trio Wien, Isaac Stern, Jaime Laredo, Ralph Kirshbaum, with members of the La Salle and Guarneri Quartets, and with the Beaux Arts Trio, among others. |
