If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
By associating our faith to a mustard seed it is extremely plain that if we have a minute amount of faith we will eventually have great faith as we grow in grace and knowledge.
It is extremely obvious that faith the size of a mustard seed cannot move mountains, as we have to grow in faith.

Job continues to be faithful in his words about God, although he is not so kind to his friends, challenging their worldly wisdom and easy answers for his suffering.
It is a pure faith based solely on worshipping God for who He is. Faith of a mustard seed, seen from this perspective, is not a small faith.

That mustard seed sized faith may start out looking small, but if it is planted in the right place, and watered and taken care of, it will grow.
That faith will grow until it is such a big mustard plant that the birds of the air will build their nests in it.
If an individual develops his faith after this manner, there will eventually be an army of faith filled Christians -- and army large enough to move any mountain that gets in the way of its campaign to spread the Gospel.

I believe that the two references to the mustard seed are related, and generally misunderstood.
