The Bihar government would order a high level probe into the mob violence leading to imposition of curfew in Muzaffarpur and identify the gang which abducted and killed five-year-old Gautam Kumar, president of the ruling Rashtriya Janata Dal Laloo Prasad Yadav said on Thursday.
He said the state government would take stringent punitive action against officials found guilty of firing and lapses on their part leading to the abduction and subsequent murder of Gautam, the son of a local bank official.
The officials posted in Muzaffarpur had been asked to maintain restraint as all possible efforts were being made to defuse the situation, the RJD chief said.
