Probably these are the same as the arrondissements of Muramvya and Mwaro, as they stood in 1978.
According to a Burundi government press release dated November 12 (no year), the Burundi parliament voted "this Tuesday" to split the province of Mwaro from Muramvya.
At first glance, it may appear that the new provinces are the same as the old arrondissements.

Andre Nikondeha who is in charge of the curriculum of the school (and also my dad).
Whether they stay in Mwaro or move on to other provinces, we are confident that they will be a blessing to Burundi as they grow God’s Kingdom where they go.

This is a collection of photographs of the refugees from the camp at Mwaro in Burundi.
The base at Mwaro is right next to the camp, & the children in particular frequently hang around outside the razor wire, hoping a friendly soldier will give them something.
Most of these pictures were taken when a large group of refugees arrived at the base when the platoon donated a large quantity of excess rations to them.

A South African UN peacekeeper shot dead a Congolese Tutsi refugee on Thursday who tried to grab his rifle during a scuffle while food was being passed out, the UN refugee agency said.
Two others, a Burundian gendarme and another refugee, were also injured in the confusion at a refugee camp in the central province of Mwaro that is home to nearly 2 000 Congolese Tutsis known as Banyamulenge.
The Banyamulenge were transferred to Mwaro after the massacre of 160 of them in August at Gatumba refugee camp, which is 4 km from the border of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The ACT programme proposed targets all 17 provinces of Burundi for emergency relief (a new province, Mwaro, was recently carved out of the province of Muramvya).
Although there are problems of security, with normal precautions it is possible for every commune in the country to be accessed, although spasmodic road closures and rebel movements can cause problems and can add to costs by, for example, having to divert deliveries by a longer route.
The social fabric of the area around Kibimba - at the border of the three provinces of Gitega, Mwaro and Muramvya - was shattered by the crisis in 1993 when the terrible massacre of schoolchildren took place nearby.

The health care includes vaccinations, treatment of child malnutrition, weighing babies and assessing their nutritional status, caring for pregnant women, treating malaria (currently the major scourge), scabies and diarrhoea, and delivering basic health services.

Following the attack against the Gatumba transit centre in August, the Burundian authorities asked all refugees to leave the area and relocate further inland, where they say their safety can be better guaranteed.
However, only 120 refugees chose to relocate, prompting UNHCR to warn that the refugees were coming under pressure from some of their peers to repatriate.
UNHCR is organising more convoys to Gihinga camp, in Mwaro province, this week, and will continue its efforts to counsel refugees that conditions in South Kivu are very volatile.

The ministry requested the UN Operation in Burundi (ONUB) to assist in providing protection of Gatumba and several other sites housing Congolese refugees, as well as for support in the disarmament of negative forces in the Great Lakes Region.
For its part, UNHCR reported that it continued to provide assistance to survivors of the Gatumba massacre, and that relocation of refugees to an existing site had already begun, while transfer to new sites in Mwaro and Rutana would be facilitated as soon as the sites were ready.
In an effort to encourage Congolese refugees to move to safer locations in the interior of the country, awareness-raising visits were being conducted.
