  Myclonic twitch
A myclonic twitch or hypnagogic myoclonus consists of one or more sudden full-body twitches, and often preceded by a sensation of falling.
The twitches occur during very light sleep as the conscious brain relinquishes control of the body's motor functions.
The cause of myclonic twitching is unknown: they appear to be associated with (a) anxiety and (b) faint stimulus.

Myoclonus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Myoclonus /ˌmɑɪ̯ˈɑk.lə.nəs/ is brief, involuntary twitching of a muscle or a group of muscles.
The myoclonic twitches or jerks are usually caused by sudden muscle contractions; they also can result from brief lapses of contraction.
People without epilepsy can suffer small but similar jerks in the form of hiccups or brief twitches; these are perfectly normal.

i wouldn’t exactly call it a twitch, but it kinda looks like she has the hiccups..
However, reptetitive twitching is a sign of MBD so that would be when you might need the calcium injections (if the UV light and oral calcium aren’t enough to take care of it).
If it’s a single jerk, and involves the whole body, and happens just occasionally, that’s what it is. If you start seeing constant tremors in the toes or limbs then you need to be worried.

Dreams in this stage are often accompanied by muscle spasms of the arms, legs, and the whole body.
Sometimes when we have these falling dreams, we feel our whole body jerk or twitch and we awaken from this jerk.
It is thought that this jerking action is part of an arousal mechanism that allows the sleeper to awaken and become quickly alert and responsive to possible threats in the environment.

This type of epilepsy has the stereotypcial 'grand mal' or 'tonic clonic' seizures, as well as smaller 'jerks' which essentially make your hands and legs jerk or twitch.
However, my epilepsy is relatively well controlled by depekene and i have not had a seizure in approx.

Usually the dreamer suddenly wakes up feeling the whole body jerk or twitch as a result of this jerk, giving him the sensation he just "fell" on the bed, some people may actually fall from their beds as a result.
Other (physiological) causes can be drop in blood pressure, a limb dangling off the side of the bed, or a movement of the fluid in the middle ear.
