Fungi Perfecti®: books on mushrooms and mushroom science
Chapters cover everything from what is a fungus, to maintaining and organizing a permanent study collection with associated databases; from protocols for sampling slime molds to insect associated fungi; from fungi growing on and in animals and plants to mushrooms and truffles.
Mycorrhizal fungi exist in symbiosis with the root systems of plants and trees, increasing their water and nutrient uptake and protecting them from disease.
Covering such diverse topics as the role of fungi in nature, their applications in the fields of food and medicine, and their relationship with plants, animals and man are examined in detail.
