	XAU Volume Analysis: 5 different data sets are illustrated.

		A few weeks ago I wrote that the XAU was in the "sweet spot" of its momentum uptrend and was still comfortably above its dominant short-term moving averages, all of which were rising at a good rate of change at that time.

		The XAU has been in widespread use since late 1983, when it was constructed as a batch of gold miners with a little bit of silver thrown in to attempt to track the precious metals sector of the equity markets.

	Safe Haven Will August Show Kindness to the XAU?
		Here is the seasonal performance for XAU for the past decade: In 1995, the XAU had a minor rally in August after a rough ending to the July of that year for the index.
		August of 2003 witnessed an exceptional rally for the XAU as the index rose by 12.
		Despite the resistance pressure the XAU was under in July, and despite the recent struggles the XAU has had with its 30-day trend line (although it remains above the rising 60-day trend line), there is reason to believe the index can manage a turnaround in August.
