Motorcycle Road Races - Athea, Ireland
Road Racing in the South West of Ireland was a tremendous success with the Village of Athea welcoming crowds estimated at 18,000 spectators according to the local police.
Irish road racing went south for the first time this season, way down in County Limerick when the third Athea road race took place last month and was well supported once again by the local crowd.
For the good of the sport it is also great to see road racing events being spread throughout Ireland and not just concentrating in the north or around the greater Dublin area.

Regional Road - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A Regional Road in the Republic of Ireland is a class of road not forming a major route (such as a National Primary Route, or National Secondary Route), but nevertheless forming a link in the national road network.
Until the late 1990s, such roads were frequently very poor, although increased road maintenance funding to local councils has resulted in more frequent resurfacing of regional roads, as well as relaying and realignment on some routes.
Regional roads are subject to a lower speed restriction of 80 km/h (~50 mph), rather than the 100 km/h (~62.5 mph) for national roads.
