The Regulations exclude the public roads mentioned in the First Schedule from the scope of the built-up area speed limit of 30 mph prescribed by section 45 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961, thus enabling a special speed limit of 40 mph to be applied to some of these roads.

The N25 road is a National Primary Route in the Republic of Ireland, forming the route from Cork to Waterford City and Rosslare Europort.
One end of this road starts at the southwest of the city, at the point where the N22 turns north towards the Poulavone Roundabout in Ballincollig.
The N25 continues east to Wexford and meets the end of the N11 road east of the town.

The energy efficiency of the five different N25 routes was compared for the EU study.
Road efficiencies come from reduced gradients, road surfaces with lower friction and layouts that reduce the amount of sudden acceleration and braking required.
While ecological rather than energy considerations are expected to determine the final route of the N25, in view of the report's findings, the NRA plans to run energy assessments on greenfield routes on a pilot basis.

A 2+1 lane road realignment scheme consisting of two lanes in one direction of travel and one lane in the opposite direction, with the two-lane section providing a safe overtaking zone, alternating with a one-lane section at intervals of 2 km approximately.
The route commences at the interface with the N8 Cashel Bypass scheme in County Tipperary and ends at the interface with the proposed M7/M8 Portlaoise to Cullahill scheme at Cullahill in County Laois.
The bypass commences in the vicinity of Kilmeaden to the West of the City, crosses the River Suir at Grannagh and ties in with the existing N25 to the East of Slieverue Village.

The Southern Ring runs east, through the ''Kinsale Road Roundabout'', a three lane signal-controlled non-symmetrical roundabout (with 5 exits) currently being upgraded to a grade-separated interchange, and currently referred to as the ''Magic Roundabout''.
Here the N25 meets the N27 road to Cork Airport (Kinsale Road) and South Link to the city centre.
From here the N25 runs east as the ''East Cork Parkway'' dual-carriageway, with interchanges for Fota Island and Cóbh, and also Carrigtohill.

Inside a single lane access road provides access to the petrol station, and continues as a single lane until the end of the filling station site, where it gives access to the fast food outlet, and becomes a two-way system while turning in the easterly direction, towards Rosbercon Road.
The elevation to Rosbercon Road which originally continued the raised plaster bands and two display windows, was subsequently revised to include a traditional shop front, and pedestrian entrance directly from the street.
I note that while the submitted drawings refer to the road running along the western boundary of the site (along the railway line), there seems to be no mention of this road objective of the development plan.

The Waterford Outer Ring Road, opened on September 30th 2005 by the Minister for Transport Martin Cullen T.D., connects the existing roundabout at Farranshoneen on the Williamstown Road to the main Cork Road (N25) just east of the Holy Cross junction.

THE lack of public lighting on the Tournore Road off the main N25 Waterford Road, Dungarvan has been described as an ongoing and dangerous inconvenience to local residents.
“What is of concern now is the darkness and narrow nature of the stretch of road from the entrance to the estate and going past Tournore House and its walls to the junction at the Burgery.
Whereas poles are in place to accommodate street lights between the Friary College, the Gaelscoil and up to a point short of the estate entrance, the narrow and dark stretch between the estate entrance past Tournore House and it’s walls and on to the N25 junction is also in need of attention.

THE Co. Council is planning to build a seventh roundabout on the N25 ring road around Dungarvan this year.
He said there was a huge volume of traffic turning off the N25 and the sooner the roundabout was put in place the better.
Kenneally’s Fianna Fail colleagues from the east of the county complained that while there were a lot of roundabouts on the Dungarvan ring road, there was little progress on providing much needed roundabouts at the Sweep Garage in Kilmeaden and at Horsequarter in Dunmore East.

Moynihan asked the Minister for the Environment whether local authorities have any responsibility for the provision of warning signs on county and national roads, advising motorists of areas where cattle may be crossing such roads.
Such signs are either prescribed in regulations made under section 95 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961, or authorised for use under the same section.
However, Wexford County Council are at present conducting an experiment on behalf of my Department using a prototype sign warning motorists of cattle crossing at locations on national road N25 in the county.
