  Naafi loses fight to feed Forces
NAAFI, which has been feeding and entertaining the Armed Forces since 1921, yesterday lost a £400 million contract to supply food to the Ministry of Defence.
About 2,000 jobs at Naafi - 40 per cent of the workforce - will be lost after the food contract was awarded to a private company.
Naafi will continue to run bars, shops, canteens and leisure facilities at military bases in the United Kingdom and overseas.

GREEK and Turkish Cypriot trade unions representing employees at the Navy Army Air Force Institution (NAAFI) store on the British bases at Episkopi have complained that staff are having their bags searched in front of clients.
The unions said people’s bags were being emptied, with their personal items on show in front of customers, and called for an end to “this undignified treatment”, which they said was unacceptable.
The unions also said the NAAFI was violating collective agreements by employing a foreigner as manager of the store instead of a Cypriot.
