Rain has delayed the start of the NAIA Region IV Baseball Tournament, held in Mitchell, S.D. The Chargers were scheduled to take the field at 4 p.m., today, vs. College of the Ozarks, but that game will now be played tomorrow.
The 2005 NAIA Preseason Baseball Ratings were released and the Chargers were among the teams which received votes.

Citing dog training as a key element of responsible dog ownership and the sensible alternative to breed-specific laws, NAIA extends the red-and-fl ribbon solidarity campaign to cities and towns all over America, especially where breed-specific bans have been proposed or already passed into law.
Therefore, instead of passing unfair, ineffective laws, NAIA advocates developing animal control programs that encourage dog owners to properly socialize, train, and care for their dogs, so that they can become good canine citizens and remain prominent members of the cultural landscape.
NAIA asks communities to judge dogs by their deeds rather than their appearance.

 NAIA Trust Position on Pets and Pet Ownership
The NAIA Trust supports reasonable animal welfare laws and animal control ordinances that protect animals and the rights of all citizens without interfering with the rights of responsible pet owners.
The NAIA Trust opposes arbitrary limit laws, breed-specific bans or restrictions, mandatory sterilization laws, breeding permits, exorbitant license fees, efforts to dilute the rights and responsibilities of pet ownership by substituting "guardian" for "owner" in animal laws, and blanket prohibitions on "exotic" pets.
NAIA Trust further believes that the best way to prevent pet-related nuisances is through the establishment of reasonable nuisance ordinances and encourages communities to use the expertise of animal experts in local animal-related clubs and businesses when writing and reviewing animal control laws.

Greff was an NAIA Scholar All-American in 2004 for his efforts in the classroom and on the field.
Epperly was a 2nd team NAIA All-American last year and the Don Hansen Football Gazette named him NAIA Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Simon Fraser won NAIA championships in women and men's swimming and diving and women's cross country.
This year's runner-up institutions in the NAIA include: Azusa Pacific University (Calif.), Lindenwood University (Mo.), Oklahoma City University and, tied for fifth, Dickenson State University (N.D.) and the University of Mary (N.D.).
