Approximately 40 Boy Scouts from Troop 495 in Pensacola, and their friends and family gathered Oct. 20, to renovate campsites and trails at Bayou Grande Nature Trail onboard NAS Pensacola, which, like much of the air station was largely destroyed in the aftermath of Hurricane Ivan.
The cleanup was an Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project for senior Boy Scout Alex Ciccone, 17, son of Capt. Charlie Ciccone, of Naval Aerospace Medical Institute at the air station.

The Aviation Museum in Pensacola is still the best one I've seen yet (I haven't been to the Air & Space Museum in D.C.).
I heard that the Wright-Patterson museum is much bigger than Pensacola, but in PNS were bigger, it would be better.

 Countdown to PCU Forrest Sherman Commissioning
NAVAL AIR STATION PENSACOLA, Fla. - PCU Forrest Sherman (DDG 98), the Navy’s newest guided-missile destroyer, arrived at Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola Jan. 21, one week prior to its commissioning on Jan. 28, to make final preparations for the ceremony.
Forrest Sherman has also participated in events and activities at NAS Pensacola and downtown Pensacola.
Many crew members attended a reception at Pensacola’s premier entertainment and dining complex at Seville Quarter, and the Sailors have utilized the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) facilities aboard base, and enjoyed the convenient MWR pier side food and beverages services, to include a covered canopy dining area, vending machines and broadcast music.

Over the past couple of years, TRAWING 6 has been replacing the T-34C, which they’ve flown since the mid-1980s for primary and intermediate flight training, and welcoming the T-6A Texan II as the Navy’s newest addition to the Chief of Naval Air Training inventory.
Diez, who began the T-34 training syllabus in November 2004, said he’s really enjoyed the training process, and he thought his last T-34C flight in the primary phase of flight training aboard NAS Pensacola was a unique experience.
It is 9 feet, 11 inches in height, weighs 4,425 pounds, and travels up to 280 knots (322 miles per hour).
