Blue - who was born in Cameroon, West Africa, and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota - got his start in comedy while pursuing a B.A. degree in creative writing from Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA.
In addition to being a stand-up comic, Blue is also a U.S. Paralympic soccer player, and he participated in the 2004 Paralympic Games that took place in Athens, Greece.

NBC's first color broadcasts showed only a still frame of the colorful peacock, but in 1957 on Your Hit Parade the peacock was gloriously animated, and thereafter appeared at the beginning of every NBC color broadcast until a revamped animation appeared in the 1960s.
NBC was briefly sued by the Nebraska ETV Network, as it was using a similar logo.

US Paralympian and comedian Josh Blue, Denver, Colorado, was chosen the winner of NBC's Last Comic Standing on the show's season finale August 9, earning himself an exclusive NBC talent contract, a stand-up comedy special with cable network Bravo, and, of course, the title of Last Comic Standing.
Blue, a member of the 2004 US Paralympic Soccer Team, was one of 12 comics selected to compete in the NBC reality series.
Blue, who was born with cerebral palsy, began playing soccer in the backyard with the family when he was just ten years old.

Feeling that "Blue" was not the best name for a broadcast network it was suggested that a name beginning with "A" be chosen so the network would show up at the beginning of alphabetical listings.
This caught the attention of the Justice Department, who alledged that RCA Corporation (NBC) was specifically employing the two parallel Networks (referred to as the 'Red' Network and the 'Blue' Network) in a conscious effort to stifle competition in the fast growing network radio and radio advertising markets.
Most collectors who are aware of the timing of the transfer of NBC Blue to ABC tend to retain the 'Blue Network' desgination on shows that ran both before and after the changeover.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - General Electric Co.'s NBC Universal and Apple Computer Inc. on Tuesday said they would make several NBC-owned television shows, such as "The Office" and "Law & Order," available on the iTunes music store.
This is obviously pretty good news for Apple and NBC, but even better news for users – it signals an increasing willingness (however limited at the moment) on the part of the networks to meet the demands for video downloads.
Of course I'm sure the nets only agree to this at the moment because the videos are properly viewed on something the size of a business card, but the walls are slowly coming down.
