NES 2 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The NES 2 is similar in design to the AV Family Computer, which was released in Japan at roughly the same time (for differences, see the AV Family Computer article).
The NES 2 returned to the standard top-loading method, used by almost all cartridge systems before and since for its ease and reliability.
In addition, the NES 2 was released very late in the NES's life cycle, and many users had already moved on to newer, 16-bit consoles.

Nintendo Entertainment System - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The NES was the first console for which the manufacturer openly courted third-party developers.
Atari Games created a line of NES products under the name Tengen, and took a different tack: the company obtained a description of the lockout chip from the United States Patent and Trademark Office by falsely claiming that it was required to defend against present infringement claims in a legal case.
When the console was reissued as the NES 2, the 10NES chip was omitted from the console, marking the end of Nintendo's most notorious hold over its third-party developers.

Alfred Chicken was certainly late in the NES timeline with a release year of 1993.
In order to get through the levels you need to jump over and press down to dive-bomb the mice with your beak; collect as many jewels as possible; flip switches to activate doors and platforms elsewhere in the level; and use springs to work your way up the platforms since chickens don't fly well.

The Japanese SMB 2 started of where SMB left and the americans dident think that this was a game worth to be released in the rest of the world and therefore Nintendo quickly bought a japanese platform game called Doki Doki Panic and reprogrammed it a little bit.

The NES is widely recognized as the console which elevated videogame music from simple beeps and whistles to an art form composed of beeps and whistles.

Planet GameCube Forums - Nintendo Ships Classic NES Series 2   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-03)
The Classic NES series is by the far the worst thing Nintendo has done this last gen. How they can expect to push innovation as the future when they not only re-release a bunch of ports but unessential ports that are easily available in cheaper and BETTER versions.
Sure the NES Classics versions of most of these games is the only version currently in stores but alternate used copies, and not on the NES, are reasonably easy to find with some effort.
The NES series was a good concept in theory if classic NES games that are hard to obtain were re-released.

Now, in today's market, Bubble Bobble 2 for the NES is commanding a price of $50 or more on eBay and my patient surveillance of the local video game stores for a used copy hasn't produced squat.
It appears that the NES and Famicom are capable of running the same software, at least according to this FAQ, and the primary difference is the number of pins on each system's cartridge interface.
In fact, perhaps one could regard the NES as a superset of the hardware contained in the Famicom, since it has more pins to access the (unused) expansion port on the bottom of the NES itself.

Some books need a few pages to unfold an otherwise interesting story; which afterward results in that you just can't seem to be able to put them down.
Storyline is pretty thin, truly- but again thicker than one in first NES Zelda and I think all the information in cartridge pretty much brings out maximum of NES abilities.
Although you acquire spells, abilities and items as you progress it can be very frustrating to do so as it's very easy to die, particularly until you've completed the first couple or so dungeons (thereby gaining more points), and the dungeons themselves lack the excitement of the puzzles/traps that other 'Zelda' games have.
