NSF header offsets 76h and 77h correspond to *both* 6000-7FFF *AND* E000-FFFF.
* Sunsoft FME-07 Sound uses registers C000 and E000 This is similar to the common AY 3-8910 sound chip that is used on tons of arcade machines, and in the Intellivision.

  NES Sound Format
An.NSF (NES Sound Format) file is a sound data file, akin to SID from the Commodore, copied from a Nintendo Famicom or Nintendo Entertainment System (NES for short) game.
NSF files are usually the entire soundtracks of the NES games, and may also contain sound effects.
An.NSF file is actually a modified NES Rom image with all game code, data, graphics and such removed, leaving only the music engine and music data.

For the pulse sounds it's the pulse wave with pulse widths of 25 %, 50 % (square), 75 % (sounds the same as 25 %) and 12.5 percent.
Although the NES did not have any LFOs, you could use a triangle or saw pitch LFO to modulate the sound and also a pitch envelope for quick pitch drops, as these kind of changes were sequenced in softrware.

One thing I like about it is that the sound used for Lilia's Ortena is from the same instrument that was used in the late, great Elmer Bernstein's soundtrack for the movie, Ghostbusters.
Blaster Master's entire soundtrack is excellent, having that unique hard-driving sound that Sunsoft made popular in their NES games.
The reason I'm keeping it separate from the NES version is because it's nowhere near as good.

it is indeed 6502 code, but that's where any similarity stops; the system architecture, how the sound is handled, everything else is at the very least different if not radically so between the two machines.
NESSIDPlay sort of relies on the simplicity of the format it's working with and thats also why all the files it comes with are huge, it's because there's no compression on the data.
