The NFC Central refers to the Central Division of the National Football Conference of the National Football League.
The NFC Central was formed in 1970 when the National Football League and American Football League merged.
The five teams in the NFC Central were placed into two newly-created divisions, with the Buccaneers moving to the NFC South, and the other four teams forming the NFC North.

They claimed that Jerry Rice's stats were inflated because he "always plays against weak NFC West competition." I knew this was a ludicrous statement.
Since they have always played in the AFC Central until last season, I still included them in the AFC Central statistics this season for the sake of avoiding confusion.

I think the NFC is the weaker of the two conferences.
NFC Wildcards: Giants, Rams, and Lions (where they will promptly get blown out in the first round and get a crappy draft pick and still aren't any good, just like they do every year).
I think that the Redskins having rid themselves of the disease that is Norv Turner, will win the NFC East--being aided by the fact that the other teams in the NFC East are 100% counterfeit.

In both eastern divisions and the NFC West, each of the five teams won at least one division title between 1995 and 2001.
In the NFC Central, only the Detroit Lions didn't win a title (and while they were never the top wild card, they did make the playoffs in 1995, 1997, and 1999).
Only in the AFC Central was there more than one team that did not win a division title, and even this is a bit deceptive, as the Baltimore Ravens won a Super Bowl after finishing the 2000 season as the top wild card team.
