  N.F.L. v. PRIMETIME 24 JOINT VENTURE, 211 F.3d 10 (2nd Cir. 2000) (LOISLAW)
PrimeTime has a statutorily granted license to make satellite transmissions to its subscribers in United States households that do not have adequate over-the-air broadcast reception from primary television stations, i.e., "unserved" households.
PrimeTime argues that capturing or uplinking copyrighted material and transmitting it to a satellite does not constitute a public display or performance of that material.
PrimeTime argues that any public performance or display occurs during the downlink from the satellite to the home subscriber in Canada, which is in a foreign country where the Copyright Act does not apply.

NFL on television - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For example, CBS' The NFL Today was the first pre-game show to have a female co-hostess, (Phyllis George); and NBC made history in the 1980s with announcerless football, one-announcer football, and even the first female play-by-play football announcer (which in its own way, set the mold for female sportscasters of today).
Since 1973, the NFL has maintained a flout policy that states that a home game cannot be televised locally if it is not sold out within 72 hours prior to its start time.
The new channel's coverage focuses on the NFL (as would be expected), although it will also be used to screen Canadian Football League games as per the terms of a working agreement with the CFL that was renewed in 2004.

On Sunday nights in the fall, back when I was in high school, after I came home from church but before I went to sleep, I'd stick a tape in the VCR and push "record." And I'd leave the cable box, set to ESPN, on all night.
Primetime was a revelation to me. Highlights for two or three minutes at a time, with multiple angles of big plays, arrows pointing to key blocks and a healthy dose of the day's bizarre plays.
For an NFL fan, it was miles better than anything on local news, and it beat the heck out of George Michael and his wacky Sports Machine.

ESPN NFL Prime Time for the Xbox is a football game that's best suited for people who are really into the management aspect of football, mostly because it features an incredible list of management options--but also because it's simply not the best-playing or best-looking Xbox football game out there.
While ESPN NFL Prime Time certainly has an impressive franchise mode, the actual playing of the game leaves something to be desired, especially if you've already seen or played any of the other football games for the Xbox.
The flip side is that ESPN NFL Prime Time isn't the right game for anyone who's greatly concerned about the presentation and handling of his or her football game.

This is great because you actually get to select which players play which quarters in the pre season, and during pre season games their overall ratings get adjusted due to their performance.
To close, NFL Primetime is not the best game to look at and it may not be one of the most challenging football simulations you play, but that's no excuse to not purchase this game because the franchise mode is the best I've seen to date in a football game.
