New International Version - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The New International Version (NIV) is an English translation of the Christian Bible which is the most popular of the modern translations of the Bible made in the twentieth century, and is exclusively published by Zondervan.
Work on the NIV began in 1965, sponsored by the New York Bible Society, which is today the Colorado Springs-based International Bible Society.
Many Fundamentalists strongly oppose the NIV and some claim it to be a heretical counterfeit.

 KJV - NIV
One such passage is Romans3:25, where the NIV changes "propitiation" to merely "sacrifice of atonement": "God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood." But this confuses atonement, which is the result of the work of Christ, with propitiation, which is what Christ does to accomplish atonement.
In Acts3:18 and 21, for example, the NIV drops entirely the phrase "by the mouth of the prophets," a powerful testimony to divine inspiration that is lost to the reader.
In each instance, the NIV translates in such a way that everyone in these households believes and professes faith before baptism, rather than that the whole household is baptized on the basis of the faith of the head of the house.

The NIV - Simply a Bad Translation
The NIV says, "to burn with passion," an addition to the text that is not indicated by any italics (or other flags) and that simply settles the interpretation for the reader.
No, the problem with the NIV is not *just* the fact that they use what many regard to be an inferior text type (though, naturally, the NIV translators did not so consider it), but the *arrogance* with which they reference their fave Alexandrian mss.
In Luke 22:31, the NIV rightly explains in a footnote that the term "you" as used in that verse is plural.

The Pastor said many NIV translations leave the "through God" part out of this verse, but he admitted "divine power" is an acceptable substitute.
The Pastor argued the NIV's rendering implied it's hard for ANYONE to enter God's Kingdom - and he added while the way IS narrow, Jesus's burden is light while the "way of transgressors is hard." (Matt.

The NIV reads, "For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last." There was such a public outcry over this rendering that the translators felt compelled to put the more literal "from faith to faith" in a footnote in their later editions.
passage in the NIV because of a "Satanic conspiracy!" The accusers state that by dropping the word "firstborn" from this passage, the NIV teaches that Mary was not a virgin at the time Jesus was born, and thus the NIV denies the doctrine of the virgin birth and the deity of Jesus.
The NIV translators (as well as all other recent translations) dropped "firstborn" from Matthew's account NOT because they were under the control of Satan, but because the evidence clearly indicates that it was never a part of the original text.
