  Stichting NLnet Annual Report 2000
Stichting NLnet views this conference as a means to stimulate the dissemination and exchange of knowledge, in general, and to disseminate news about Stichting NLnet’s activities, in particular.
NLnet is planning on supporting the regional and interregional schoolLAN management and co-ordination efforts, starting in January 2001 in Arnhem and hopefully extending to Venlo, Hoorn, and Zwolle in the course of 2001.
NLnet expects to sponsor Stichting LogReport in 2001 with € 140.000, based on employment of approximately 1.5 fte during the year.

NLnet, operated by Memorial University since its inception six years ago, was the original Internet service provider in Newfoundland and Labrador, and it is still the largest.
"NLnet has become too large and too important to be operated as a sideline," said Wilf Bussey, director of the Department of Computing and Communications, the Memorial University department that has been responsible for NLnet's operations.
When proposals from the private sector were solicited, Memorial specified four principles that it felt were essential to NLnet's mandate: universal access to allow all citizens in Newfoundland and Labrador to potentially have access; capacity for network enhancement; service levels of the network supported and strengthened significantly; and reasonable cost.

NLnet was the regional Internet system that was built by Memorial University and extended across much of the province during the past three years in partnership with STEM~Net.
Through NLnet, STEM~Net was able to increase the percentage of teachers within local access regions from 25% in September of 1993 to approximately 70% by September of 1996.
Earlier this year, NLnet was tendered to the private sector, and the winning bid was submitted by a consortium led by Cable Atlantic.

Ik wil het graag daar nog een > > keer aankaarten wanneer er voldoende mede-belangstelling bestaat.

The Réseaux IP Européens Network Co-ordination Centre (RIPE NCC), Amsterdam, in co-operation with NLnet Labs, Amsterdam, has announced the deployment of NSD (Name Server Daemon) to k.root-servers.net, one of the thirteen servers that provide worldwide address translation for the root of the Domain Name System (DNS) network, as of 19 February 2003.
NLnet Labs was founded on 1 January 2000 by foundation NLnet.
NLnet does not directly benefit from the undertaken projects, and all developments are published as Open Source.
