NNI believes that there are three factors to be taken into account in this regard in a modern democracy: the media's right to freedom of expression, the individual's right to his good name and the public's right to information.
NNI holds the view that it is as much in the interest of its members as those of the public that the right of an individual to his good name is protected and that standards in journalism are upheld.
The NNI newspapers have introduced internal changes to ensure that, as far as possible, mistakes are kept to a minimum and, that wherever possible, corrections and apologies are published to minimise damage where mistakes have occurred.

 NNI/PSA NITROGEN GENERATORS
The NNI standardized series of nitrogen generators, which can be designed to include such options as booster compressors, de-oxo catalyst modules, oxygen analyzers, and/or outdoor/freeze protection packages, to meet customer requirements, has long been a preferred solution for many nitrogen gas applications.
The addition of a NNI de-oxo catalyst module allows our PSA Nitrogen Gas Generating Systems to be utilized for a number of applications in industry calling for the use of high purity nitrogen, formerly only available by means of costly supplied nitrogen.
NNI has a dedicated knowledgeable staff ready to lend their support to identify and overcome unique project challenges.

If the NNI control-channel is defined between an sub-network boundary ONE NNI interface and an ONC which implements the NNI functionality, then this boundary ONE must act as a relay entity for the signaling protocol.
NNI Topology and resource Distribution Protocol The Topology and resource Distribution Protocol (TrDP) is the mechanism provided to initially exchange and distribute the discovered logical-port related information of the ONE included in an optical sub-network.
The NNI signaling transport mechanisms considered here are the in- band (case 1) and the out-of-band (case 2) mechanisms; extensions for the out-of-network (case 3) mechanisms are also considered.

The NNI at Five Years (DLS) - One-to-One with Mike Roco
A main reason for the development of NNI has been the vision based on intellectual drive towards exploiting new phenomena and processes, developing a unified science and engineering platform from the nanoscale, and using the molecular and nanoscale interactions for efficient manufacturing.
The NNI has already created a nanoscale science and engineering “power house” of discoveries and inventions in the US with about 40,000 researchers, students and workers qualified at least in one aspect of nanotechnology.
The NNI annual investment in nanoscale research with relevance to environment is estimated at about $50 million in 2002, of which NSF awards about $30 million and EPA awards about $6 million.

The NNI has done a great job of fostering communications and establishing organization, but it hasn't adequately addressed the potential effects nanotechnology could have on society, said Denis Gray, a psychology professor at North Carolina State University who also sat on the committee.
Gray said that choosing to launch NNI was "wise," saying that after examining the degree to which other countries are investing in nanotechnology, it became clear to him that "we are not alone in thinking there is going to be some payoff here.
