Logical nor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Logical nor (not or), joint denial, or Webb-operation is a boolean logic operator which produces a result that is the inverse of logical or.
The two-input logical NOR operator is commonly described by a truth table, describing the output state for all possible input combinations:
NOR has the interesting feature that all other logical operators can be expressed by various functions of nor.

§ 40. nor. 1. Grammar. The American Heritage Book of English Usage. 1996
Similarly, you must use nor (not or) when negating the second of two negative independent clauses: He cannot find anyone now, nor does he expect to find anyone in the future.
However, when a verb is negated by not or never, and is followed by a negative verb phrase (but not an entire clause), you can use either or or nor: He will not permit the change or (or nor) even consider it.
Or is also more common than nor when such a noun phrase, adjective phrase, or adverb phrase is introduced by not: He is not a philosopher or a statesman.

EETimes.com - Spansion moves NOR flash density into NAND territory
It carries Spansion's NOR flash devices from the 110-nanometer, 512-Mbit devices already in production through the 45-nm process node and to densities of 8 Gbits per die, nearly overtaking the NAND flash road maps of the company's competitors.
NOR devices occupy lower-density applications and applications in which durability — the ability to endure thousands of read/write cycles without error — and data retention are critical.
In a conventional flash device, NOR or NAND, data is stored on a polysilicon gate structure sandwiched into the gate oxide, usually near the edge of the control gate.

I know that it is always neither's partner as in: he is neither goodlooking nor is he rich, but when the sentence is negative, such as I don't like pistaschio nuts or burritos -- should the or be nor.
I don't think we care much about it anymore in real life, nor do I think that is a bad thing.
"Nor" is essentially a negative "or" as "neither" is a negative "either".
