 Namespace Routing Language (NRL)
NRL is an evolution of the author's earlier Modular Namespaces (MNS) language.
To deal with this possibility, NRL allows the rule for a namespace to specify that elements from that namespace are to be attached to a parent section and be validated together with that parent section.
NRL elements can be extended with arbitrary attributes provided the attributes are namespace qualified and their namespace is not the NRL namespace; they can also be extended with arbitrary child elements with any namespace (including the absent namespace) other than the NRL namespace.

 Timation and GPS Satellite History
NRL scientist Rogerl L. Easton formulated a concept in April 1964 for transmitting ranging signals along with the primary CW signal such that the distance to the target satellite could also be measured, making early orbit determination.
NRL also identified orbits that would maintain a consistant ground track so that an almanac of satellite positions could be published and the satellite would not be required to transmit its position.
NRL's work was considered vital to the time-based system concept, and the Deputy Secretary of Defense called for Navy participation with emphasis on the clock developments.

The test methods developed by the NRL are the dynamic tear test, drop-weight nil-ductility transition temperature test (DWT-NDT, standardized by the ASTM in 1963 and used along with the fracture analysis diagram for design of steel structures worldwide), explosion bulge test, and explosion tear test.
In the early 1960s, the NRL demonstrated the potentially severe embrit-tlement of nuclear reactor steels to be a function of neutron exposure and irradiation (service) temperatures.

NRL Measures Record Wave During Hurricane Ivan
During NRL's Slope to Shelf Energetics and Exchange Dynamics (SEED) field experiment, six current profiler moorings that also contained wave/tide gauges (Sea-Bird Electronics SBE 26) were deployed on the continental shelf at water depths ranging between 60 and 90 meters just west of the DeSoto Canyon, about 100 miles south of Mobile Bay, Alabama.
At mooring 3, located under the most intense winds, the maximum measured wave height was 27.7 meters (91 feet) which was part of a group of large waves with periods of approximately 10 seconds where several waves reached heights of about 20 meters (66 feet).
These in-situ measurements made by NRL directly under a category 4 hurricane are very valuable since they can be used to provide an assessment of potential impacts to offshore structures and operations by energetic storm waves.
