TrueWave® RS reduced dispersion slope fiber is the latest member of Lucent Technologies' TrueWave nonzero-dispersion fiber (NZDF) family.
NZDF fibers have been shown to operate practically at 40 Gb/s and commercial systems are expected in the next year or two.
NZDF fibers with higher dispersion slope than TrueWave RS tend to have too little dispersion in the lowest wavelengths around 1530 to reliably suppress crosstalk,.

People affected by alcohol and/or drugs are a safety hazard to themselves, to all others at the workplace, to members of the public whom they might encounter during work, to their families and the wider community, and to NZDF's consumers.
That in all dealings with an individual worker, workplace delegates, representatives, and each other, both NZDF and NZDWU must at all times act in accordance with the principles of good faith as enunciated in the Employment Relations Act 2000.
If a worker fails to take advantage of an agreed Union-employer EAP programme and if the worker is subsequently stood down once more in a 12 month period, and, if the worker still fails to take advantage of an agreed EAP, then the worker shall receive a final written warning.

I asked how many times NZDF members had had to fire their weapons and the reasons for doing so (training, accidental discharge, combat etc), as well as information on any incident when they had had to return fire or shoot at Afghans and whether anyone had been injured or killed in consequence.
All NZDF personnel deployed to Afghanistan are required to conduct periodic range practices on gazetted firing ranges in order to maintain their weapons handling skills.
For the NZDF personnel making up the Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT), or attached to the International Security Assistance Force, or serving in staff positions in Operation Enduring Freedom, there has only been one discharge of a weapon in the course of an operation.

NZDF assisted the Ministry for Culture and Heritage with the repatriation of the Unknown Warrior by providing transportation to France and back, ceremonial support for the Handover Ceremony in France and the Interment Ceremony in New Zealand.
The codename for NZDF support for the return of the Unknown Warrior is Op Valhalla (The word Valhalla comes from Norse myth and means the great hall of Odin where warriors who die as heroes in battle dwell eternally).
A 50-person tri-service Guard of Honour, a 50-strong NZDF Maori Cultural Group and the New Zealand Army Band were in position at Air Movements Terminal in Rongotai, Wellington to welcome the Unknown Warrior to New Zealand soil.

The NZDF is attempting to fund a full range of capabilities with insufficient money and without having determined specific priorities.
There are doubts within NZDF whether it is worth spending this latter sum in view of their age.
In my view the possibility of acquiring a reduced number of F-16s should be explored to maintain expertise and to preserve an operational capability that may need to be expanded should strategic circumstances deteriorate significantly at some point in the future.

My personal preference is for the NZDF to be able to operate in small-scale amphibious operations alone and be able to fit into larger operations, with allies.
The NZDF should not be carrying out opposed landings, but I believe that the EFV would allow for a tactical flexibility in the Asia Pacific region that not many countries have.
The NZDF is being made to fit into an ideology that is not reflective of the environment it finds it self in.
