East London - The body of a 13-year-old boy, who went missing earlier this week, was found in the Nahoon River in East London on Thursday, said Eastern Cape police.
Inspector Stephen Marais said the body of Sonwabile Gubanbe was found by police divers at 08:00, a day after he went missing in the river while swimming with his friends.
Marais urged parents to educate children who could not swim on the dangers of crossing rivers.

The only river port in the country, East London became a permanent British settlement in the early 19th century as it was a decent landing point for British military supplies during the frontier wars with the Xhosa.
Keep well downstream of the river mouths though: they start off shallow but the channels drop away fast and if the tide is going out you will too.
