Najmeddin Kubra Mausoleum - is the holiest place in Kunya Urgench.
Najmeddin Kubra was a famous 12th to 13th century teacher and poet who founded the Sufi Kubra order.
The tombs inside - one is for his body and one for his head, which were separated by the Mongols.

One of Kunya Urgench’s sanctuaries, the buried vault of Sheikh Najmeddin Kubra is the centre of attraction for Muslim pilgrims from remote countries of the Asian continent.
Paying a tribute and commemorating the valorous defenders of Old Urganj who perished in the siege of the ancient town the guests visited the Najmeddin Kubra Mausoleum.
Another landmark of Kunya Urgench is the Dash Mosque, the start of the pilgrimage to the Uch Yuz Altmysh memorial ensemble.

Year and a half ago we held the international conference devoted to Sultan Sanjar, one of the outstanding rulers of Great Seljuk, and his epoch.
Some other conferences were devoted to the spiritual legacy of such outstanding people whom Kunya Urgench presented to the world as Najmeddin Kubra, Abu-l Qasim Mahmud Zamakhshari, Muhammad Anveri, Yusuf Hemedani.
Some other brilliant names are linked with the great city of the Orient: Abu Rayhan Biruni, Abu Ali ibn Sina, Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi, Fakhreddin Razi and many, many others.
