World Naked Bike Ride - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) is an international event in which participants plan, meet and ride together en masse on human-powered transport (the vast majority on bicycles, and fewer on skateboards, roller blades, roller skates) to "protest oil dependency and celebrate the power and individuality of our bodies".
This distinctive form of Critical Mass and Critical Ass is often described or categorized as a form of political protest, street theatre, party-on-wheels, streaking, public nudity and clothing-optional recreation and thus attracts a wide-range of participants.
Others say that participants should not be naked unless they conform to their own ideals of physical attraction.

The industry is buzzing about "naked bikes," high-performance sport motorcycles that are stripped of the large, colorful and curvy plastic moldings called fairings mounted around the engine, frame and underbody of most sport bikes.
While sport bikes typically get the best technology from the racetrack, such as aluminum frames and quality brakes, naked bikes are getting some of the same technology.
Naked bikes "speak to a lot of motorcyclists not only because of the styling and technology but because of their riding comfort," says Ty van Hooydonk, spokesman for Discover Today's Motorcycling.

Opting to test one of the first SV1000 nakeds in the U.S., rather than wait to ride a unit that we could hang onto a bit longer, this report is somewhat of a hybrid between a "first ride" and a "ride review".
I thought this might allow the bike to change directions a bit quicker, but increasing preload on the rear shock is a bit more difficult than it is on the SV650 (which has pre-set detents for rear shock spring preload, as opposed to the 1000's straight, stepless collar).
We didn't have the bike long enough to come up with a reasonably precise estimate of fuel range, but mileage in the high 30s should be easily achievable, and perhaps a bit more.

The Kawasaki ZRX ain't exactly sophisticated, but the fact it's got 165cc more than the next biggest bike makes up for a lot of that; 80 foot-pounds of torque at under 7000 rpm overcomes the fact that the Kawasaki is the heaviest bike in the group too.
