Nakhon Sawan (Thai (A native or inhabitant of Thailand) นครสวรรค์) is one of the provinces (The proper sphere or extent of your activities) (changwat) of Thailand (A country of southeastern Asia that extends southward along the Isthmus of Kra to the Malay peninsula).
The Mae Wong National Park on the border with Khamphaengphet province was created in 1987 to preserve the Mae Wong-Mae Pern jungle.
The province is subdivided in 13 districts (Amphoe (additional info and facts about Amphoe)) and 2 minor districts (King Amphoe).

The agriculture ministry confirmed the latest cases in two central provinces Tuesday but said it could not yet confirm it was the H5N1 virus that can be lethal to humans.
Somsak confirmed that authorities seized and culled some 2,000 chickens after a farmer from Nakhon Sawan province tried to drive away some of his birds before test results came through that proved the lethal H5N1 strain was present in his chickens.

Two bus terminals in Nakhon Ratchasima were overcrowded and some travellers had to wait up to eight hours for their buses, which were stuck in heavy traffic.
Anusorn Witoorakorn, land transport official of Nakhon Ratchasima, said although bus trips were doubled from 180 a day, they were still not enough to meet excessive demand.

The number of provinces and cities in Vietnam reporting cases of poultry dying or being culled because of the bird flu virus since Jan. 1 reached 31 out of a nationwide total of 64, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said.
Thirty-seven birds that died Jan. 25 in Nakhon Sawan province, 240 kilometers north of Bangkok, were also infected with the virus, the department said.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has ruled out the mass slaughter of open-billed storks in Nakhon Sawan and the outskirts of Bangkok, saying there was no compelling evidence to suggest they were carriers of bird flu.
Laboratory tests showed live storks in Bueng Borapet wetland in Nakhon Sawan province and Lat Krabang district in Bangkok were free of bird flu.
He compared storks in Bueng Boraphet and Lat Krabang with those at Wat Phai Lom, a riverside temple in Pathum Thani province, which migrated from Bangladesh in the winter, and found that the migratory birds were still free of the virus.
