Nakusp Hot Springs, located just outside the community of Nakusp, is a wonderful place to relax, kick back, and enjoy the soothing mineral waters of the naturally heated mineral springs.
The hot water at Nakusp Hot Springs comes out of the earth about 1.5 km from the hot springs building, and is piped down through a 4-inch insulated pipe, which you can see as you take a stroll up there.
The community of Nakusp is located on the eastern shore of Upper Arrow Lake in the West Kootenays, at the junction of Highway 6 and Highway 23, 29 miles (46 km) northwest of New Denver and approximately 60 miles (96 km) south of Revelstoke.

Nakusp's settlement history begins in 1892 when the town site was put up for sale by the Rand Bros. - 25' lots sold for as much as $300 each.
Since there were no roads or railways between the Kootenay mining areas and Vancouver, goods had to be shipped by water transport from Nakusp to Revelstoke where the main CPR line was located and for a time Nakusp became a thriving community on this shipping route.

The Chamber of Commerce organizes the Canada Day Celebrations (July 1st) in Nakusp, with a Pancake Breakfast by the volunteer firefighters, a parade, and then all sorts of activities at the community park such as kid's races, fun games of chance, a concession, and music in the gazebo.
As the skatepark lies adjacent to the community park, it is not unusual for a skateboard competition to be held the same day.
Nakusp’s Santa Claus Parade in early December is a highlight for many children, and the evening is rounded out by a carol sing and hot refreshments.
