William Scott Gallery : Nancy Nicholson
For stained glass artist Nancy Nicholson, glass represents a seductive material which affects her on a deep, primal level.
After graduating from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Nicholson worked as a professional stained glass artist for fifteen years, producing custom designs for residential and architectural interiors as well as free hanging panels for national and local exhibitions.
Working in a variety of subject matter, ranging from the still life to animated, distorted, patchwork cityscapes, Nicholson uses traditional construction methods of lead and copper foil, though her windows have a distinctively contemporary feel.

dOc DVD Review: Something's Gotta Give (2003)
Still, director Nancy Meyers deserves kudos for reminding us that 50 is far from fatal, and how, like fine wine, women (as well as Nicholson and Keaton) only improve with age.
The second commentary pairs Meyers with Nicholson, who at first sounds like he just rolled out of bed, with his breathy basso voice resembling that of a late night radio disc jockey.
Meyers dominates the conversation and provides plenty of fascinating information, even criticizing some of her directorial choices.

 Something's Gotta Give (2003)
Trivia: Nancy Meyers wrote the part of Harry with only Jack Nicholson in mind to play him.
Meyers wrote the script with Keaton and Nicholson in mind specifically, the decision was a wise one.
Goofs: Continuity: When Marin is walking in the city as she talks to Erica on the phone, she is walking away from a business.

"Best Screenwriting Magazine" -- LA Times
Writer-director Nancy Meyers (1998's The Parent Trap remake) wrote this script specifically for Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton, which is how she makes this story work.
Although sometimes it sounds like Meyers is simply cozying up to Nicholson so he'll star in her next movie ("Wow, that's so insightful, Jack, I never thought of that"), she restrains herself long enough to ask him a number of technical and story-related questions.
From a writer's standpoint, it's also a relief to hear Meyers, an experienced and established industry screenwriter, pondering whether her "little tricks of emphasis for actors" (italics, bold, and the famous three dots) actually work.

 Amazon.co.uk: DVD: Something's Gotta Give [2004]
Meyers falls short with the sitcom device of a younger lover (Keanu Reeves) who wants Keaton as much as Nicholson does; it's believable but shallow and too easily dismissed.
Directed by Nancy Meyer, who also wrote the story with the two leading actors in mind.
Anyway, Nancy Meyers's direction of this self-authored fairytale will appeal to its targeted audience no doubt, but don't try to screen this for your boyfriend.
