		Robert's parents were Nicholas SMITH and Agness or Nancy SMITH who I believe are buried in Brant County.
		I was thinking that Lablanche may have been the maiden name of Mary's mother as it seems to be passed down as a middle name through the girls in the family and sometimes this was a way of passing on the mothers maiden name in the family.

		Set in an unpleasant high-tech interstellar civilisation, where decadent long-lived humans seem to have nothing better to do than dress up, play games, and kill each other, it is told in a particular flowery elliptical fractured style that I find unrewarding to read.
		I really expected to like this book, given the other John Ford novels I've read and enjoyed.
