Nankai Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (南海電気鉄道株式会社 Nankai denki tetsudō kabushiki gaisha) is a private railway in Japan.
Founded in 1885, Nankai was one of the companies that merge to form Kintetsu in 1944, but separated again in 1947.
The Nankai Main Line connects Osaka to Wakayama, with an important spur branching to Kansai International Airport.

Nankai (Chinese: 南开; pinyin: Nánkāi) refers to the series of schools founded in China by the famous patriotic-educationists Zhang Boling (张伯苓) (1876-1951) and Yan Fansun (严范孙) (1860-1920).
The schools mainly comprise Tianjin Nankai Zhongxue (天津南开中学)(1904), Nankai University (南开大学)(1919), Chongqing Nankai Zhongxue (重庆南开中学) (1936) (during the World War II moved from Tianjin) and others.
Nankai (南海) is also short for Japanese Nankai Electric Railway.
