Background: Napalm, invented by Fieser in 1942, is an incendiary substance made by the simple procedure of adding a "gelling" powder, composed of naphthenate and palmitate (hence "napalm"), to gasoline in varying concentrations to form a sticky, combustible substance.
Napalm's increased viscosity resulted in the enhanced effectiveness of flamethrowers, which were frequently used in World War II.
Napalm B provided the United States with an incendiary substance with enhanced stability and controllability and as such, became the weapon of choice during the Vietnam War.

The navy admitted to using napalm as late as 1993 in training exercises on the island of Vieques in Puerto Rico, but the last cannister of a vast US naval stockpile was reportedly destroyed in a public ceremony in April 2001.

A 1980 UN convention banned the use against civilian targets of napalm, a terrifying mixture of jet fuel and polystyrene that sticks to skin as it burns.
The revelation that napalm was used in the war against Iraq, while the Pentagon denied it, has outraged opponents of the war.
For someone to append a summary stating napalm is a WMD is factually incorrect and muddies the line between actual WMDs and other weapons of war that, while terrrible, simply are not weapons of mass destruction.

 Napalm Death @ CanEHdian.com
Well, it’s been twelve years since Napalm Death let loose the amazing From Enslavement to Obliteration album, which effectively killed rock and roll dead in a 21-song blitz of demented ferocity that baffled many, and seemed even comical at the time, for its passion and power.
Napalm Death parted company last year with Earache Records, the label that they put on the map, by filling it to the brim with their side-projects, friends bands, and almost two dozen studio, ep’s, singles, live albums, split releases, and videos.
One band has chosen to mellow with age, while another has fragmented their sound into an incomprehensible maze of starts and stops and arrangements that have little to do with ‘proper indie-rock songs’.

During the war, Pentagon spokesmen disputed reports that napalm was being used, saying the Pentagon's stockpile had been destroyed two years ago.
Apparently the spokesmen were drawing a distinction between the terms "firebomb"; and "napalm." If reporters had asked about firebombs, officials said yesterday they would have confirmed their use.

Originally known as Combat, the thrash trio Napalm managed to secure a record deal with Combat Records (no relation, but the label forced the name change to Napalm) and their first release was an EP as part of Combat's Bootcamp series.
Arguably the best release from the band, the EP was an energetic thrashfest and one of the better sellers of the series, but despite already having a longer-term deal with Combat, band and label couldn't see eye to eye and the original lineup folded.
Though the band known as Napalm is no longer active, the Rossbach brothers (the other two-thirds of the original Combat EP lineup) are still active in the music scene, having resurrected the old Combat name and occasionally play in the NYC area.
