Narasimha - FFXIclopedia - a Wikia Gaming wiki
In Hindu legend, Narasimha is the 4th avatar of Vishnu (1 of 3 deities in the Hindu Trimurti, in the role of Preserver/Maintainer).
Narasimha is able to slay Hiranyakashipu because he is only part-god-, part-man, part-animal and he kills him on the theshold of a courtyard during twilight when the demon is in his lap using his nails to disembowel the Asura.
Narasimha could not get out of this battle frenzy and needed to be calmed by another deity.

None of the present demigods were able to calm Narasimha's fury, not Siva, not even the consort of Narayana, Laxmi.
Thus, at the request of Narada, Prahlada was presented to Narasimha, and finally, he was calmed by the prayers of his devotee.
Narasimha indicates God's omnipresence and the lesson is that God is everywhere.

 Manas: Indian Religions, Narasimha
The circumstances under which Vishnu descends to earth in the form of Narasimha are to be found in the fact, as enumerated in the Puranas, that in his previous incarnation as the boar, Vishnu had killed the asura or demon Hiranyaksha, and consequently filled his elder brother, Hiranyakashipu, with a burning desire for revenge.
As half man (nara) and half lion (simha), he is neither man nor lion; he springs out of a pillar; he strikes at twilight, when it is neither day nor light; and he attacks Hiranyakashipu at the threshold of his palace, under the arch of the doorway, neither on earth nor in the sky.
The tale of Narasimha is also there to remind us of the risks which we must take if we seek to be true moral agents.

Narasimha - HinduWiki, Hindu 108 Upanishads, Hindu Scriptures, Hindu Beliefs, Hindu Gods and Goddesses
Narasimha ("man-lion") (also known as Narasingh, Narasinga) (नरसिंह in Devanagari) is desribed as the fourth incarnation (Avatara) of Lord Vishnu within the Vedic/Puranic texts of Hinduism.
Hiranyakashipu could not be killed by human, deva or animal, Narasimha is neither one of these, as he is a form of Vishnu incarnate as a part-human, part-animal.
Forms where Narasimha appears sitting in a yogic posture, or with the goddess Lakshmi are the exception to this rule, as Narasimha is taken as being more relaxed in both of these instances compared to his form when first emerging from the pillar to protect Prahlada.

 P. V. Narasimha Rao :: Indian Leader
The major achievements in the political career of Pamulaparti Venkata Narasimha Rao were when he served as India's ninth Prime Minster from 1991-1996; twice served as the foreign affairs minister and once as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
P V Narasimha Rao was perhaps the most unlikely and unexpected figure to have influenced the course of India's foreign and security policies because, for the first 40 years of his political career, he was not a known figure in the Congress Party circle discussions on these subjects.
Rao's advice was an important input, leading to Rajiv Gandhi's five-nation initiative on disarmament, and his important proposals for disarmament submitted at the special session of the UN General Assembly in 1988-89.

Four of the eight post-1947 tombs have been created to honour members of the Nehru family, whose names are etched on airports, ports, roads, townships, public conveniences and much else in a country that is presumably grateful that such a brood chose to be born in their midst.
To those scripting such Stalin-style show trials, it did not matter that Narasimha Rao had himself asked Rajiv Gandhi in 1991 for permission to retire, and was looking forward during and after the election that year only to writing and to music, and to the company of friends.
For years, Narasimha Rao had been tended by Sreenath Reddy, one of the finest heart specialists in the world, the son of a close friend -- Raghunatha Reddy -- who was himself as idealistic as his boy.

Three years ago, I noted 'the thing to remember about Narasimha Rao is that he essentially a short-term manipulator who poses as a statesman.' And over the last year, I have been Rao's bitterest critic in the media.
It is significant that Narasimha Rao's was the first PMO to be widely regarded as riddled with corruption.
Even during the worst excesses of the Rajiv Gandhi era, the corruption was said to be located at the prime minister's house (where Satish Sharma and assorted aides sat) and not at the office where nobody questioned the integrity of Gopi Arora, Sarla Grewal, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, or G Parthasarathy.

Witnesses have corroborated that each of the four Jharkhand Mukti Morcha members of Parliament, led by Shibhu Soren and some of the seven Janata Dal (Ajit) members were paid Rs 5 million, besides being allotted petrol pumps, for voting against the no-confidence motion against the Rao government, he said.
The entire conspiracy was hatched at the instance of Narasimha Rao, whose minority government, with just 252 members in the 545-member Lok Sabha, would have fallen if the MPs had not been bought over, Dutt said.
