Nargaroth (band) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nargaroth is a one man fl metal band from Germany.
Nargaroth was formed in 1989 by René Kanwulf Wagner as a one person band.
Nargaroth's song Erik, may you rape the angels, from the album Black Metal Ist Krieg is dedicated to Erik Brødreskift.

 NARGAROTH
Nargaroth is the most important name for the Germanic fl scene, the band started in 1991 influenced by the new-borning evilness of the Norwegian scene.
Nargaroth’s music didn’t changed so much, again the same evil and depressive feeling was the dominant factor, in a dark vision of a forlorn mysterious fl power hidden in the fog of a sombre forest.
The true spirit of fl metal is reincarnated in a band that, also thanks to the big names split, have reached a very important position in the reign of total darkness.

Few people venture into this dark world and the bands who play it spit in the face of all that is considered trendy and commercial and it is not for everyone, to say the least.
The band is from Finland and Shatraug from Horna is the mastermind behind the band.
Nargaroth is somewhat similar to Nachtfalke in the fact that they play both up tempo Black Metal (Black Metal 1st Krieg) and Epic Metal (Amorok).

Nargaroth is a hot issue in today's fl metal scene, some claim the man Nargaroth to be one of the last true fl metal bands around, others call him a liar and a poser, while others listen to pop-stars Cradle of Filth.
As with most bands in today's scene, Germany's Nargaroth became well-known due to controversy, namely the statement 'a celtae hominis, pro celtae hominis', which as it was loosely interpreted by the media means 'by white man for white man' contained on the mighty 'Herbstleyd' debut.
There are countless Nargaroth demo's, such as 'Orke' and early versions of the full-length albums, some which are apparently from 1993 (Black Metal ist Krieg) and even 1989-1994 (Herbstleyd), while long time members of the German fl metal scene have never heard of any of these releases and do not remember mention of this band.

Nargaroth is more famous for the ‘Black Metal Ist Krieg’ album, which has obviously become a landmark album for modern fl metal and has kept the fl metal spirit alive.
Nargaroth is grim fl metal similar to Graveland and early Burzum recordings.
Although Nargaroth is often considered to be a solo project of Kanwulf once again he has enlisted a few others to play on this recording.

As with most bands that have been around the block a few times and continue insisting that they have records left in them, Exodus have obviously woken up to the fact that, when they put their minds to it, doing what they do best and no more is their best option.
I hate to say it about a band that has produced many magnificent moments in its past, and as a founding force of the awesome Swedish Melodic Death Metal epoch of the early 90's that was once so innovative and influential, but these guys have lost it bigtime.
Nargaroth have long be a band that have hidden in the underground den of fl metal, spoken of with either complete worship or complete disgust.

Nargaroth is quickly becoming a name in the fl metal field, as they garnered many excellent reviews for the cd "Black Metal Ist Krieg".
What is most shocking, is the fact the band is not from a grim and frostbitten corner of Norway, but from Germany.
The reason it seems like a newer band is the first full length cd didn't come out till 1999, 10 years after forming and 8 years after the first demos.

Despite being the first band in the billing, the audience, though slightly scattered, was attentive and supportive enough, having easily started a fire at the mosh pit and the first few attempts at stage diving were made.
Given the band’s young age, it was furthermore intriguing that the musicianship should be as demanding as it is. All band members being promising, the drummer in particular showed skill in using the drumstick and double bass drum.
The band’s performance was clearly appreciated by the supporting sectors of the audience, but clearly some of the comments uttered by Mr Nocturnus Horrendus were not exactly appropriate or fit to the event.

It's no secret that bands from this area all spin within melodious, similar tremolo picked riff ideas, but Naglfar have been at it since Scandinavia's triumphant and lucrative return to fl metal and can be considered as upholders of throne, along with fellow countrymen Dissection and Dawn.
Even though three albums in and this band hasn't offered anything new to the style of music they uphold, their output is so incredibly solid and genuine, one can look past the lack of originality.
The overall guitar tone and use of melody is the same as the aforementioned band, but I will say that Nightrage do try to make their riff ideas a bit more technical at times, or break up the flow of the progressions with a touch of acoustic guitar/mirrored synth lines.

This may not be the strongest of Nargaroth´s cds but when you release an album with such a diversity it is normal that its consistency suffers a bit.

The expertise of this band is not the technique it carries from the previous generation but the sense of place and existential change that crowns these narrative works.
Place is created through mood in the dark melodies stitched a handful at a time through the strumming of internal patterns, and mood expands into setting through familiarity of symbols and reference to isolation surrounding it.
Surmounting their own obstacles and instantiating their own achievements, songs peak with dynamics of the greatest simplicity and proliferate with increasingly internally recursive patterns, appearing as the growth of a forest must in time-delay photos from space over 5,000 years.
