Uzumaki Naruto Biography | Naruto HQ - Character Biographies
Naruto is a relatively small container that cannot quite handle the whole of Kyūbi's chakra, which might account for Naruto's inability to control and focus chakra consistently for jutsu during his days at the academy.
Naruto, Haruno Sakura (his crush) and Uchiha Sasuke (her crush) are assigned to Team 7 under the leadership of Hatake Kakashi.
Naruto's encounters during the Chūnin exam arc are characterized by Naruto relating to or opposing to sentiments and outlooks on life, and it is through this relation that he makes many new friends (and on three different occasions, by defeating an enemy).

Looking from the bridge at the whirlpool, it is difficult not to draw comparison between the whirlpool and Na-ruto's chakra.

Naruto can mean "maelstrom", and is also the name for a sliced stick of Kamaboko with a pink whirlpool design in the middle that is used as a topping for Ramen (Naruto's favorite food).
Naruto has a great sense of humor, albeit somewhat perverted in some cases, and is usually all smiles and laughs around (though, at times, he smiles to hide whatever's bothering him so no one worries about him; those who are closest to him see right through it).
Ebisu implies that Naruto's poor chakra control stems from this, as a portion of his chakra is used to reject the overwhelming fox chakra.

Whirlpools, I thought, were mythical entities, not the kind of thing to put on a modern-day map.
Perhaps in fact there was a whirlpool in Corryvreckan that was so huge and infernal and unexpected that it was not a chimera at all, but fixed into the ocean so firmly that it could be called permanent.
Japan’s Naruto Whirlpool, which also can be viewed from a highway bridge, is much like the Norwegian Saltstraumen—small chains of whirling water racing down the currents, neat and tidy in its sudden spasms of violence.
