		In 1991, Nas made his on-record debut with a verse on Main Source's song "Live at the Barbeque." Hailed as the second coming of Rakim, his rhyming skills attracted a significant amount of attention within the hip-hop community, and he was soon approached by MC Serch (of 3rd Bass).
		Nas' response was "Ether", a battle record which featured a sample of 2Pac saying "Fuck Jay-Z", accused Jay-Z of stealing ("biting") lyrics from the Notorious BIG and brown-nosing Nas and other rappers for fame.
		Nas is the driving force of the song, with KoÐ¯n frontman Jonathan Davis only having one section of vocals in the entire song.

		Nas brings out the rawest form of hip-hop in this east coast effort, as he tries desperately to establish himself as witty street rapper.
		Nas should have put at least four or five more tracks on this album, as that would have raised the shear chances for a hit song, which this album is begging for.
		It must however be said that Nas is quite young here and that this is his first effort, and it is unfair to judge him on the success of other well known rappers debut albums.
