  Mitra
There Mitra appears as one of five Vedic deities invoked as witnesses and keepers of the pact, with Varuna, Indra and the twin horsemen, the Nasatya (Campbell, 1964 p 256).
Vedic Mitra is referred to in the Rigveda onwards as one of the Adityas, a solar deity, and the patron divinity of honesty, friendship, contracts and meetings.
The treaty is guaranteed by five Indo-Iranian religious entities: Indra, Mitra, Varuna and the Nasatyas.

The Asvins are referred to as having the heads of horses (though they take any form they wish typically).
They are the twins Nasatya (the inseperable, or the one without untruth), and Dasra (the miraculous), born of Understanding (Samjna), and both married to the daughter of the sun Surya.
These beings are the physicians of the gods and are associated with youth, beauty, active benevolence, curative powers, the dualism (in a complentary aspect, and not opposites).

We must thus rest content with the moderate estimate of the thirteenth century B.C. as the approximate date for the beginning of the Rigvedic period.
This estimate has not been invalidated by the discovery in 1907 of the names of the Indian deities Mitra, Varuna, Indra, Nasatya, in an inscription of about 1400 B.C. found in Asia Minor.
For the phonetic form in which these names there appear may quite well belong to the Indo-Iranian period when the Indians and the Persians were still one people.

The support or fixed vertical pillar at the base which the Nasatya assemblage circled every 24 hours is one or another of the mythical persons to whom the Nasatyas tended as heavenly physicians, or rescued from the metaphorical ocean waves of the shimmering auroroid crescents.
If the Nasatyas were not perceived as sharing one head, they were seen to be arranged in mutual opposition, head to head.
That this cannot have been otherwise is indicated by the fact that their clothes were covered with thousands of ivory beads, corresponding with the thousands of sparks or jewels upon the person or persons of the Polar Apparition.

Although the name Nasatya creates the urge to be self-expressive and artistic, we emphasize that it causes an emotional intensity that is difficult to control.
This name, when combined with the last name, can frustrate happiness, contentment, and success, as well as cause health weaknesses in the liver, bloodstream, and nervous system.

The influence of the Indo-Iranians was felt as far west as modern-day Turkey and Syria, in the kingdom of Mitanni.
The gods known to the Mitannians as Indara, Mitrasil, Nasatianna and Uruvanassil were called Indra, Mitra, Nasatya and Varuna in the Rig Veda.
Indian civilization itself had a deep and pervasive influence on Southeast Asia, leaving behind a significant cultural stratum that is still plainly visible, even among the peoples who later converted to Islam.

It is noteworthy that the earliest appearance of the "Vedic" gods Indra, Mitra, Varuna and the Nasatya twins is found in a mid-fourteenth century B.C. treaty between Matiwaza of Mitanni and Suppiluliumas of Hatti from central Asia Minor.
Drews accepts Kammenhuber's conclusions about the Aryan glosses in this treaty that "the words came from a developmental stage of Aryan earlier than the bifurcation of Indian and Iranian, and they came from the dialect ancestral to Sanskrit (rather than the Proto-Avestan dialect).

The fourth argument that has been pressed into the service of the supposed BMAC = Aryan equation is that the motifs on the BMAC seals compare with certain motifs on the Syro-Hittite glyptics and since there occur on some Boghaz Qui tablets the names of Vedic deities, viz.
Indra, Mitra, Varuna and Nasatya, the Boghaz Qui Aryans must be at the root of BMAC ethnic make-up.
To quote Sarianidi (op.cit.: 677): “Since it is Mitanni texts that contain the oldest mention of Aryan deities, there cannot be any doubt about the connection of the Mitanni empire with the so-called Aryan problem.

The Hittites took over the Hatti capital of Hattusas in Anatolia and the Mittanis settled in Kurdistan where they were influenced by the Hurrian natives in several fields. The Mittanis seem to have been an Indic, and not an Iranic group of people.

The Mittanis could have introduced during this early period some of the Indic tradition that appears to manifest itself in the Kurdish religion of Yazdanism.

Instead he would have highlighted the specific reference to Rig Vedic Gods Mitra, Varuna, Indira and Nasatya twins in a Treaty between the Hurrite and the Mittani from 1500 B.C. in a region spanning present day Turkey and Syria.
In fact the only reference to this nugget in Government of India maintained history education material on the Internet is deep inside a University Education Commission Report from 1948.
