NASHWAUK — The land dispute between the cities of Nashwauk and Keewatin has been resolved, with the piece of land in question to become a part of Keewatin.
Nashwauk Attorney John Dimich told the council before the vote that he had sent a letter to Keewatin stating that Nashwauk would be in favor of detachment of the land, which would allow it to go back to Nashwauk Township.
Nashwauk Mayor Robert Fragnito said a number of the residents had expressed to him they would rather be in the township.

Glacial Lake Superior Plain, Nashwauk Uplands, and North Shore Highlands are subsections of the Northern and Southern Superior Uplands Sections of the Laurentian Mixed Forest Province (Figure 8.1) (Minnesota DNR 1998).

Richard Allen Impila, 45, allegedly abducted the woman by gunpoint at a residence on Poplar Drive in rural Nashwauk a little after 6 a.m.
In addition, the suspect also was in violation of a court order for protection.
