		In preparation of the 2002 elections, the Democtratic Party (DP) became the National Alliance Party of Kenya (NAK), by merging with around thirteen other smaller parties.
		NAK allied itself with the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) to form the National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) umbrella coalition party.

		Ratu Epeli Ganilau (born 10 October 1951) is a Fijian soldier and statesman, who currently heads the National Alliance Party of Fiji.
