On December 14 1998, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases hosted a groundbreaking workshop bringing together top researchers from all over the United States and the world to discuss a potential infectious etiology of Crohn's disease and to devise new research approaches to address this critical concern.
Currently, CDC is working to better understand the epidemiology of Crohn's disease in the U.S. and to define the current knowledge of physicians concerning its diagnosis and treatment.
