	University alliances in Taiwan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		National Taiwan Normal University which is reportedly about to merge with the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology [1]
		There are three major university alliances in Taiwan, mostly organized in 2002, intentionally modelled after other university systems such as the University of California.
		The key steps in such integration may include pooling of resources such as libraries and some co-ordinated budgeting.

	Corner-Carvers Forums - Exploding Whale!
		National Cheng Kung University marine biologist, professor Wang Chien-ping, was on the scene and said he had he instructed the truck driver to move the carcass so the whale could be used for educational purposes and an autopsy could be done.
		Certified by authorities as the largest beached whale on record in Taiwan, the 17-meter 50-ton carcass was being transported by a flat-bed trailer-truck to a special research location after National Cheng Kung University officials and security guards refused to allow the whale on campus.

	Biography
		Professor Lin received a national fellowship for studying abroad from the Ministry of Education, R.O.C. in 1983, co-received the Outstanding Young Author Award from the IEEE Circuit and System Society in 1990 and received the Highest-Honored Research Award from the National Science Council, R.O.C. three consecutive times in 1992, 1994, and 1996.
		He was named the first Charles Marshall Senior University Scholar, an Associate in the Center for Advanced Study, and has served as the Founding Director of Center for ASIC Research and Development at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
		He was a visiting lecturer at University of Texas at Dallas in 1985 and is an adjunct professor at University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign.
