Students from the National Law School managed to secure a Rhodes Scholarship (two scholarships in the years 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2005) for study in Oxford in every single year from 1996 to 2004, out of the six scholarships allotted annually to India, which is a feat unmatched by any other college in India.
Some five year law schools in India have experimented with having a science background, however, a 2 year science education is of no use when the student is determined to learn that only as a necessary evil to get to the eventual law degree within 5 years.
National Law School, and the "Five Year" curriculum that has been followed since its inception in other colleges, rules out rich educational backgrounds that post-graduate law courses offer.
