 Museums and the Web 2004 : Close-Up
Patricia Tuohy who heads the Exhibition Program at the National Library of Medicine, Jiwon Kim, the exhibition educator, and Kevin Schlesier, exhibition coordinator will provide a tour of the new exhibition "Changing the Face of Medicine: Celebrating America's Women Physicians".
Discussions will focus on how technology allowed the Library to present an overwhelming amount of information in a variety of formats for the many different visitors who see the show--young people, students and teachers, families, medical professionals, scholars, and senior government administrators.
The exhibition uses a combination of technologies to present more than 40 narrative biographies; 5 fun, fast artifact enhancements; and a room-size interactive presentation of the more than 300 hundred women featured in the project.
