There is a nice museum connected to the castle that tell you a little about the history of Limerick and of the castle with a slide show and with and with a short dramatic presentation along with some exhibits.
I rarely come out of a museum thinking this, but given a month and a moderate budget I could have turned this museum from a bore, which was what it was, into a great experience.

The National Maritime Museum of Ireland is located in the former Mariners’ Church in Haigh Terrace, Dún Laoghaire.

The King's Printer was confined to government printing and this led to a few other presses being established in Dublin and the provinces in the middle years of the 17th century.
The principal font of type used was supplied by an Englishman named William Henry West, proprietor of a printing business in Capel St. Because of the sensitive nature of the material and the secrecy surrounding it, the amount of type available was not sufficient and thus, the proclamation was printed in two halves.
This machine which was used in all the major newspaper and printing houses in Ireland, was also the press upon which the 1916 proclamation was printed.
